Analytics Engineer – Business Intelligence (Power BI)
Location: Remote – must currently reside in DC, NYC, Boston, or Chicago
Type: Full-Time
Salary: $120,000 - $146,000 Base
About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading Am Law 100 firm, is seeking an Analytics Engineer to develop, administer, and enhance the firm’s business intelligence platforms, with a primary focus on Power BI .
This role will design and maintain intuitive dashboards, impactful visualizations, and actionable insights for both business and legal stakeholders. The Analytics Engineer will also lead the strategic migration of Tableau and Alteryx workflows to Power BI while maintaining legacy systems during the transition.
What You’ll Do
● Design, develop, and optimize dashboards, reports, and visualizations in Power BI
● Administer Power BI (workspace configuration, access controls, governance, capacity planning)
● Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, insightful solutions
● Lead migration of Tableau dashboards and Alteryx workflows to Power BI
● Maintain and optimize legacy Tableau and Alteryx solutions during transition
● Champion visualization best practices, performance optimization, and user-centered design
● Provide training, documentation, and support for Power BI adoption and self-service reporting
● Collaborate with data engineering and governance teams to ensure data quality and compliance
● Stay current with advancements in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related tools
What You Bring
● Advanced Power BI expertise (DAX, Power Query, RLS, shared datasets)
● Strong data modeling, visualization, and performance tuning skills in large-scale environments
● Experience with Tableau and Alteryx, including development and migration strategies
● Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases/data lakes
● Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Azure Synapse, or SQL Server integrations
● Knowledge of BI governance, metadata management, and access controls
● Strong business acumen and stakeholder engagement skills
● Minimum 5 years in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data visualization
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field
● Professional services or law firm experience
Preferred:
● Power BI or Microsoft Azure certification
● Experience driving BI user adoption and self-service analytics
