Job Description

Perform appraisal reviews and validate appraiser’s assumptions and valuation methodologies. This position ensures the maintenance of regulatory compliance and a standard of quality for commercial appraisal reports in support of lending activity.

Responsibilities:

• This job requires the review of commercial and residential appraisal work whether engaged by the bank or transferred from another financial institution. The reviews to be performed must comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Practice (USPAP). The review shall focus on the appraisal’s compliance and the appropriate methodology to be adequate, relevant, accurate, and reasonable.
• Upon request, appraise properties with transactional value of less than $500,000 by means of internal evaluation following USPAP compliance Standards 1 and 2 or the relevant Standard.
• Perform research and/or analysis when requested on special projects.
• Perform collateral inspection and due diligence of real estate collateral as deemed necessary.
• Ensure preventive measures are carried out to fully comply with current rules, regulations and internal policies relating to risks pertaining to BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and other AML related issues.
• To identify, evaluate, monitor and make any recommendation deemed necessary to their respective Risk Management Committee in order to assess, reduce, eliminate or control any current or prospective risks to earnings or capital arising from violations of, or nonconformance with, laws, rules regulations, prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards.

Functional Skills & Knowledge:

Background in appraisal of commercial real estate assets of all types

Minimum Education and /or Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree and Certified General Real Estate Appraiser by State Agency 

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

5+ years of commercial appraisal experience 

Technical and/or Essential Knowledge:

Microsoft Office suite
