While they work on a multitude of different projects, the scope you will be working on consists of commercial, multi-family, and hospitality projects. Job Overview This role involves supervising field construction, organizing, planning, and scheduling to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Projects will be on-site in Austin, TX.
Additional incentive compensation is available for Traveling Superintendents.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct workplace inspections to assess progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, vendors, crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely project completion.
- Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to develop on-site plans and procedures.
- Create project documentation, including schedules, RFIs, jobsite controls, tracking reports, and daily reports.
- Advise project management of potential issues and assist in resolving them.
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractor activities for smooth project completion.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure work meets plans and specifications.
- Conduct safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety programs and rules.
- Participate in recruiting, assessing, and hiring construction personnel.
- Supervise and train direct reports to achieve project objectives.
- Work with project managers to ensure consistency with estimates and schedules.
- Ensure necessary permits and temporary facilities are in place before construction begins.
- Oversee Specialty Superintendents and provide guidance to Assistant and Specialty Superintendents.
Qualifications - Ability to collaborate and function well within a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents.
- Knowledge of general construction methods and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn new field management and reporting software.
Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Preferably 3+ years of related work experience.
- Supervisory experience, with at least 1+ years of field supervision preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment - Moderate physical activity, including sitting, walking, standing, bending, and carrying items (25-50 pounds).
- Occasional physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking over rough terrain, and climbing.
- Good vision, hearing, and speaking abilities.
- Standard project site environment with potential exposure to machinery, parts, chemicals, and the need for protective gear.
