Organization and Position Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineer – Data Center OR Principal Electronics Engineer - Data Center to our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization. Job Environment The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with other engineers and technicians in a lab-like environment to integrate, test, and troubleshoot software/hardware systems in complex IT systems. Responsibilities Provide software, hardware, and system support to on-site end-users as well as engineering technical support for peer teams. Support the IPT with software defect resolution and enhancement efforts. Engineer and test new technical solutions in lab environments, technical requirements, and/or bug fixes. Integrate and install system cabling and rack equipment in accordance with engineering specifications. Develop and maintain Microsoft PowerShell, Bash, and Python scripts. Work with IT automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and/or Packer. Experience administrating Container Technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) in a production environment. Work with IT systems that include NetApp storage, Cisco network devices, Cisco servers, and Dell equipment. Work with operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy Management. Work with virtualization products like VMware ESXi, VMware Horizon, or virtual desktop infrastructure, and vCenter. Maintain COTS hardware and software configuration matrices, and automate installation of COTS software. Document and maintain system configurations and compatibility with existing architectures when implementing system enhancements. Implement engineering changes to the system as required. Design and implement VMware high-availability virtualized infrastructures. Work Requirements The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote or hybrid work available for this position. The position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Level Qualifications Electronics Engineer – Data Center Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience. Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8140 approved IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CCNA Security, Security+CE, CCNP, CISSP). Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems. Experience with VMware. Active DoD Top Secret clearance with recent background investigation or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation. Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance prior to employment. Principal Electronics Engineer – Data Center Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree and 3 years; OR a PhD and 0 years. Same certification and clearance requirements as above. Preferred Qualifications Current SAP clearance. Active DoD 8140 approved IAT Level II (or higher) certification. Experience with NetApp storage, Cisco network devices, VMware ESXi and vCenter, VDI. Experience with IT infrastructure operations and maintenance. Salary Range $89,400.00 - $134,200.00 Additional Compensation Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and long-term incentives.
