Job Description
Holmes is an international design firm that does more than just engineering. We are compelled by possibilities, informed by community interests, and in constant pursuit of the why behind all our work. With US offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and Boulder, we are part of the New Zealand-based Holmes Group with employees around the Pacific Rim.
Our vision at Holmes is to be more representative of the communities we serve—and the places we live and work. People at Holmes are encouraged to dream big and are empowered to achieve their goals in an environment where we recognize and value diversity. Our commitment is to provide all of our great people equal support and equal opportunity to thrive, grow, and develop.
We are seeking Structural Designers to join us!
The introductory role of a Structural Designer marks the initial stride in launching your career at Holmes. In this position, you'll work alongside seasoned engineers, actively participating in the design and analysis of structural elements across diverse projects. Your responsibilities will encompass the creation of detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports, utilizing state-of-the-art software. Travel to project sites may be required for assessments and inspections.
At Holmes, we are firm believers in growing our people by offering diverse developmental opportunities. Your journey with us will include personalized mentorship, complemented by interactive live technical training sessions facilitated by our esteemed Holmes University team. Furthermore, you can anticipate a robust support system, be it from colleagues in our well-connected offices, specialized material committees (Wood, Steel, Concrete, Mass Timber, etc.), or interest groups where individuals from across Holmes Global can engage in meaningful conversations. There's even the chance to pick up a few Māori words from our colleagues in New Zealand!
