**Flooring Sales Associate**

**in Coon Rapids, MN**

**(Full Time/Part Time)**

We are currently seeking Flooring Sales Associates who have a customer focused mindset and would like to work in a fun and fast paced atmosphere. No experience needed and will be happy to train the best candidates. The right person should be excited to help make selections and decorating decisions in order to help our clients make their projects beautiful.

Minor amounts of selling may be needed but this is a lead generating position for our inhome team that could ultimately lead to a solid career choice with HOM Furniture and Flooring, minimum of 12-25 hours per week. Pay starts at $12 an hour, but we are willing to pay more based on experience in our industry. Top producers with a proven track history have the opportunity to move into a commission program with higher earning potential. Eventually, our Flooring Sales Associates would move into a full time Flooring career at HOM!

Our Sales Associates sell retail products and services to customers using customer-oriented, needs-focused selling principles. Associates are responsible for maintaining sales volume through agreed upon goals and objectives. Additional responsiblities include, but are not limited to, assisting the sales manager in support of the sales plan, supporting company standards, adhering to selling behaviors, supporting a positive work climate, embracing training, education, and development, and measuring own success.

**EMBRACE TRAINING, EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT**

* Support all training endeavors and complete all training lessons in a timely manner

* Attend and participate in all training and sales meetings as scheduled

* Recognize opportunities for self-improvement, work with sales manager to improve performance

* Responsible for staying informed on all new and existing product lines

* Responsible for staying informed of competitor information, and performing monthly competitor shops

* Secret Shops will be conducted to ensure selling skills are demonstrated according to company structured selling methods

**MEASURING YOUR SUCCESS**

* Make daily evaluations and improvements to sales performance and HOM Guard protection products and services

* Submit timely and accurate sales reports as directed by manager

* Keep organized records

**SELLING BEHAVIORS**

* Work with all customers in a friendly and professional manner

* Communicate effectively with customers in both verbal and written formats

* Maintain a well-groomed professional appearance

* Greet all customers within the showroom

* Determine customer's needs using proper inquiries

* Present and demonstrate products in a competent manner

* Quote accurate prices and credit terms

* Estimate delivery dates to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules

* Lead customers into making buying decisions and to related add-on sales

* Competently provide answers regarding products to customer

* Recognize and overcome customer objections

* Track prospective customers for future use as sales leads, based on information from previous contacts

* Contact regular and prospective customers on a daily basis for the purpose of generating sales

* Send thank you letters to all customers

* Provide all customers with after sale service

**SUPPORT A POSITIVE WORK CLIMATE**

* Support management and peers, train and assist as needed

* Comply with all company policies and procedures

* Embrace change and demonstrate a positive mental attitude

* Adjust scheduled hours to meet store needs

* Perform non-selling activities, such as: price product for promotional events, regular maintenance of price cards, light dusting & vacuuming, maintain cleanliness in all areas of the showroom

**SUPPORT COMPANY STANDARDS**

* Meet agreed upon sales and HOM Guard product goals on a month to month basis

* Consistently demonstrate selling skills using the companys structured selling method

* Maintaining high accuracy i.e.: writing invoices, special orders, discounting, delivery charges, etc.

Education and/or Experience Must have or be currently working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum two years direct customer service, retail, and/or sales experience required. Must demonstrate computer literacy.

Language Skills Fluent in the English language, in both verbal and written formats. This position requires skills to read and interpret documents such as instructions, correspondence, memos, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Candidates must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and possess the skills to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of our organization. Must be able to absorb vendor product knowledge and possess good oral and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills Mathematical aptitude to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also requires skills to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. Must have good math skills and able to perform addition subtraction multiply and divide using a calculator. Some geometry or basic blueprint knowledge will be taught.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data or figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, and using measurement devices.

Reasoning Ability Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Need to be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
