We are seeking a 1099 Independent Contractor Civil or Structural Engineer for work in the Nashville area. Key Responsibilities Conduct site studies evaluating damages to materials or components in residential structures. Write detailed technical reports on completed projects. Communicate regularly with clients, providing timelines and updates, and document all communication. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Qualifications Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in the state where work is assigned. Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related fields. At least two years of experience in failure analysis, residential construction, building codes, or related areas is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in technical writing and Microsoft Word. General computer skills (Microsoft Word, Google Chrome, etc.). Exceptional customer service skills, team-oriented, and service-minded. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Access to high-speed internet and reliable cellular service. Own or obtain a laptop with Microsoft Word and PDF editing software. Own or acquire necessary equipment for forensic projects. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for prolonged periods. Lift/move objects weighing 50-100 lbs. Climb onto roofs, ladders, scaffolding, etc. Balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl as needed. Reach, handle, and feel with hands and arms. Drive for extended periods.
