Overview Franco-Arab/Francophone Arabic Speaker Translator & Interpreter TRAVEL ONLY role at CACI International Inc. This is a travel-only position requiring TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Percentage of travel: up to 25%; Type of travel: Outside Continental US. You will be deployed for 6 to 8 weeks at a time, with 4 weeks at home, then deployed again. What You’ll Do You will utilize linguistic and analytical skills for mission-driven roles. You will translate and/or transcribe intermediate to advanced-level materials into correct grammatical American English, including but not limited to technical manuals, foreign language periodicals, and audio files. You may lead or be part of a team of linguists supporting CONUS and/or OCONUS operations. Responsibilities Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats, capturing facts, nuances, and implied meaning. Preserve geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements; adapt word choice to target language norms for the subject area. Interpretation, You Will Interpret accurately; typically consecutive interpretation is needed, with occasional simultaneous interpretation (French and/or Arabic to English and English to French and/or Arabic). Have a good understanding of one or more regional dialects. Transcription, You Will Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with high accuracy and expression. Prepare reports with excellent English-language written communication. Have a good understanding of one or more regional dialects. You Will Bring These Qualifications Ability to pass an advanced English test Active TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated Polygraph Bachelor’s Degree Ability to score ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in translation, transcription, and/or interpretation In-depth knowledge of geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language areas Mastery of MS Office and internet research Nice To Have Previous military experience Understanding of one or more regional dialects Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilities This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.
