Overview
A long-standing leader in the publishing and distribution industry is seeking a Full-Stack Developer to modernize and expand functionality within its proprietary vendor-facing platform that enables suppliers to manage their product catalogs, track transactions, and streamline communication with the business. It serves as the primary tool for vendors to collaborate, update product information, and access the features they need to conduct business efficiently.
Currently, the company is looking for some temporary help from a full-stack JavaScript developer to build out new features and enhancements for this application. The front-end is mainly in Vue.js with additional back-end contributions in Node.js.
This is a contract opportunity for an initial 3-month engagement with flexibility to work remotely in the US, preferably in the eastern or central timezones.
The Role You'll Play
The Full-Stack Developer will play a key role in enhancing the Portal with new features to enhance the experience. This requires a hands-on developer comfortable owning features end-to-end, collaborating with product managers, and delivering functionality that improves vendor usability.
Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and maintain features within the Portal (web application).
Implement UI changes using Vue.js and Vuetify components
Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
Build and integrate APIs and back-end services in Node.js as needed.
Ensure scalability, security, and performance of portal features.
Participate in code reviews and follow best practices in modern web development.
Background Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced Vue.js developer with full-stack capability who can work independently and deliver functional solutions with minimal oversight.
Qualifications:
4+ years of full-stack development experience.
Strong skills in Vue.js (front end) and Node.js (back end).
Familiarity with Vuetify or other Vue component frameworks.
Experience with RESTful APIs, integrations, and data structures.
Solid understanding of version control (Git) and Agile methodologies.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
