Marden's is a family-owned company with 13 retail stores and 3 warehouses all in Maine. Marden's locates and purchases overstocks, closeouts, insurance losses, liquidations, salvage deals, discontinued items, and other deals across the country and sells them at discounted prices.

What you'll contribute to the team:

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. PEOPLE SKILLS: Must have the ability to communicate with customers in a pleasing manner, with the ability to attentively listen to the customers' needs. Must have the ability to close the sale.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year related experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to complete all required paperwork.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach with hands and arms at least up to 75% of the time and talk or hear 100% of the time. Ability to learn to drive a fork lift and obtain necessary certification; and operate an electric and manual pallet jack after adequate training.
