Job Description
Job Summary:
The Lowbed Driver is primarily responsible for transporting heavy equipment from one place to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks. This CDL Class A driver will take ownership of all aspects of the haul, from pre to post-trip inspections, complying with DOT Hours of Service and safety regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Deliver equipment and loads via heavy or tractor-trailer trucks, both inter and intra state routes available
Load and unload cargo efficiently, safely, and correctly, observing all best practices
Couple and uncouple trailers, including air, electrical, hydraulic lines, and fifth wheel locks
Obtain/maintain correct documentation for loads (i.e., BOLs, deliveries signed for)
Maintain fuel/DEF levels, cleanliness of inside/outside truck and trailer
Report any road-incidences to dispatch timely
May be required to perform minor emergency roadside repairs
Follow all applicable traffic laws
Conduct daily thorough pre and post trip inspections, completing DVIRs thoroughly and correctly
Maintain accurate log via consistent and correct ELD usage
Use most efficient and safe route to deliver goods as timely as possible
Exercise awareness of CSA scores and individual responsibility to improve them
Perform and acknowledge all safety regulations as determined by FMCSA, OSHA, and the Company when completing any and all tasks related to operations
Performs other related duties as assigned
