Description ALBERT HOTEL is hiring for a
HOTEL BARTENDER Albert Hotel is located on a three-acre site from 242 to 248 East Main Street, Fredericksburg, TX. The hotel itself is tucked away from Main Street located behind the original historic buildings, creating a peaceful escape offering quiet sophistication just off bustling Main Street. The hotel has 110 guest rooms, including bunkrooms, suites, and a private house, and each room will have tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and little extras to make guests feel at home. The property has three restaurants, one bar, a private dining room, and will offer in-room dining. Guests can enjoy the inviting outdoor lagoon-style pool, a fitness center, and a 2,000 sq. foot full-service spa. The property is ideal for hosting events, with a 3,600 square-foot event space and a 1,200 square-foot mezzanine deck and event lawn.
JOB OVERVIEW A Hotel Bartender is responsible for mixing and serving drinks, serving bar guests, and preparing items necessary for
service while adhering to state liquor laws and regulations. A Hotel Bartender must have a good understanding of how ingredients work together to create the right flavor. Bar service at New Waterloo is about combining great
hospitality along with technical skills and warm personalities to create an upbeat, inviting environment. The person
having this role must possess good communication skills and have the ability to resolve conflict with a thorough
understanding of company policies.
What you'll do: - Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos, and verbal instruction
- Greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome
- Check guest's identification to verify minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Prepare and serve beverages promptly and consistently, adhering to the hotel's recipes and procedures
- Work with the Bar Manager to create craft cocktail recipes
- Maintain bottles, glasses, bar tools, and garnishes in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
- Maintain product knowledge to inform guests of daily specials, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations upon request
- Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the POS system and send them to the kitchen; See to each guest's special needs, including any allergies or dietary restrictions
- Assist in the restocking and replenishing of bar inventory, prep, and supplies
- Wash and sterilize glassware, utensils, and bar equipment
- Maintain revenue by preparing checks that itemize total costs + sales taxes and collect accurate payments from guests
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, bar top, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas
- Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc. to ensure all needs of the outlet are met
- Ensure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns; inform immediate supervisor and apply corrective measures when necessary
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
- Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property and keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
- Attempt to limit issues and liability related to excessive drinking by responsibly serving alcohol, having an awareness of signs of intoxication, and taking appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our guests
- Assist bar management with creating beverage menus, ordering and receiving supplies, and maintaining bar inventory
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the outlet as directed by the outlet manager
- Attend relevant meetings as directed
Who you are: - You have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree .
- You have a State issued food handling + beverage certifications as required.
- You have 2+ years of related experience in hospitality industry preferred.
