PROGRAM OVERVIEW (DOHMH COVID-19 Vaccination Plan- Round 4 Supplemental Gotham Center, LIC) The mission of the Bureau of Immunization (BOI) is to prevent the occurrence and transmission of vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) through comprehensive immunization programs. BOI promotes immunization across the lifespan from infancy through adulthood, works to eliminate disparities in vaccination coverage through data evaluation and support of equitable vaccination services, and actively responds to VPD outbreaks to mitigate their spread and impact on communities. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, BOI has implemented a citywide COVID-19 vaccination campaign to reduce the impact of the pandemic on the health care system and the NYC community. The campaign is focused on the equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccine, ensuring access to the most vulnerable New Yorkers. Position Overview The Bureau of Immunization is seeking a Director for the Immunization Infrastructure and Clinical Support Unit (IISCU) to lead critical initiatives to advance adult immunization efforts, with a particular emphasis on the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination campaign. The IISCU Director will oversee a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing vital programmatic and clinical support to both the community and the Bureau. Key responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting immunization data to identify populations with low vaccination coverage or limited access to vaccination services. Additionally, the Director will collaborate closely with Bureau leadership to design and implement strategic programs aimed at increasing coverage of COVID-19, flu, and other vaccines citywide and addressing disparities, with a focus on promoting equitable access to immunization services. Also, the Director will manage the rollout of new vaccine products, particularly annual COVID-19 vaccines, ensuring efficient and widespread distribution.
