Description:

This is an entry level position that will assist the project manager and/or lead technician in installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure in a low voltage environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in Install of Fire Alarm cabling
• Assist in Install of Fire Alarm equipment
• Report any project scope changes, issues or concerns
• Basic Knowledge of fire alarm technologies, systems, and circuits.
• Ability to work independently when required.
• Assist in installing Firestops and various types of cable penetrations
• May assist with installing, maintaining, operating fire alarm equipment
• Under direction of Lead technician, may perform preventive maintenance on systems and equipment (may include climbing ladders and use of lift devices; requires proficiency with normal working tools, must know how to solder and crimp connections)
• Provides field reporting updates to Project Manager as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Knowledge:

· Vocational/Technical/Business School preferred not required

· Must be able to read and understand floor plans or willing to learn

• Must be able to work on ladders and scissor lifts or willing to learn
• Be confident working at heights utilizing ladders and lifting equipment
• Color vision as required to follow cable plant color codes
