Sterile Processing Lead
Shift: 6am – 2:45pm
Pay: $26/hr
We are seeking a Sterile Processing Lead / Coordinator to oversee a service line responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, functional inspection, and packaging of complex medical devices. In this role, you will guide daily operations, mentor Sterile Processing Technicians, and partner closely with Quality, Clinical, and Engineering teams to ensure that all devices are processed safely, compliantly, and efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, advanced sterile processing knowledge, and a commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement in a regulated medical environment.
As the Sterile Processing Lead / Coordinator, you will:
Oversee technician performance in safety, quality, adherence to IFUs, regulatory compliance, and attendance.
Coordinate workflow across decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and packaging areas.
Ensure proper equipment start-up, biological/chemical indicator readiness, documentation, and shift handoff practices.
Operate, set up, and troubleshoot sterilization and reprocessing equipment (e.g., washers, ultrasonic units, autoclaves).
Track daily reprocessing metrics, including turn-around times, device availability, quality events, and equipment reliability.
Present weekly operational data during Engineering/Quality/Service check-ins.
Ensure complete and accurate sterile processing documentation, including load records, device tracking logs, and electronic quality systems.
Mentor and cross-train team members across all sterile processing functions.
Support ongoing competency assessments and certification pathways (CRCST, CCSV, CIS, CER, etc.).
Promote a culture of accountability, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and professional growth.
Provide first-line technical support to resolve reprocessing or device functionality issues.
Participate in quality investigations, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
Review and disposition nonconforming instruments or devices in partnership with Quality.
Recommend workflow, ergonomic, or process improvements to enhance safety, consistency, and compliance with industry standards (AAMI, AORN, HSPA).
6+ years of sterile processing, medical device reprocessing, or related experience
Sterile processing certification REQUIRED (CRCST, CCSV, HSPA, SPD, etc.).
Strong documentation, mentoring, and training skills.
Ability to diagnose root-cause issues, interpret IFUs, and perform device servicing with minimal guidance.
Proven leadership and communication skills in a medical, sterile processing, or regulated environment.
