BCforward is currently seeking a highly MicroStrategy (MSTR) Developer in Buffalo or Schenectady, NY
Position Title: MicroStrategy (MSTR) Developer
Location: Buffalo or Schenectady, NY
Anticipated Start Date: November 3rd -2025Please note this is the target date and it is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.
Expected Duration: 3+ months strong possibility for extension
Job Type: [FULL TIME (>=40 HRS WEEKLY), [CONTRACT], [Onsite]

Detailed Job Description
Required Skills & Experience
1. MicroStrategy Development (5+ years)
o Hands-on experience creating and maintaining schema objects, public objects, reports, dossiers, and dashboards .
o Ability to design efficient and scalable BI solutions.
o Familiarity with MicroStrategy Workstation is preferred but not required.
2. SQL and BI Reporting (5+ years)
o Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for BI/reporting.
o Experience using SQL within BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Cognos, Tableau, or Power BI.
3. Database Experience (5+ years)
o Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, Google Big Query , or similar platforms.
4. Business Interaction (3+ years)
o Proven experience working directly with business users to gather requirements, discuss issues, and resolve challenges.
o Strong communication and analytical skills.
5. Ticketing Tools (2+ year)
o Experience using ServiceNow or similar tools for incident, request, and change management.
Optional / Preferred Skills
6. ETL Tools (3+ year)
o Basic understanding of ETL concepts and exposure to tools like SSIS or Informatica .
7. Scheduling Tools (1+ year)
o Experience with Active Batch or other enterprise job scheduling tools.
Additional Notes
· Candidates with solid MicroStrategy development experience can quickly adapt to the Workstation environment.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills are essential.
· Preference for candidates who can work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
