Overview:
Heitmeyer is looking for a Mortgage Underwriter to support a critical LOS (Loan Origination System) upgrade. In this role, you’ll work on the quality assurance side to ensure the new system aligns with business requirements and is fully functional for underwriting processes. Our client’s underwriting team is focused on high production, so we need an independent contributor who can dive into testing, troubleshoot issues, and assist with UAT and regression testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual testing, including regression and UAT to ensure system accuracy and functionality.
- Identify issues and defects in test scripts, log and track issues, and recommend refinements.
- In a long-term capacity, this role would move into full underwriting, including income calculation, asset review, and analysis of tax returns.
Required Skills:
- 2+ years of mortgage underwriting experience
- Experience underwriting conventional loans
- Loan Origination Systems (LOS) Experience:
- 1st preference: Encompass
- 2nd preference: Any LOS platform
- Manual Testing experience in UAT and regression testing, with an ability to refine test scripts and document issues.
- Basic Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Outlook).
- Self motivated with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and dive into tasks confidently.
