Description Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Clerk for one of our valued clients in Del Mar, CA. Key Responsibilities + Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for hourly, salaried, and temporary employees. + Review and verify employee timecards for accuracy, ensuring compliance with payroll policies. + Enter payroll information into the system for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly pay cycles. + Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and record discrepancies. + Maintain and update payroll records, including changes in exemptions, benefits deductions, or direct deposit information. + Prepare and review basic payroll reports to ensure internal accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. + Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to reconcile payroll discrepancies and audit employee information. Requirements + High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or payroll certification preferred. + At least 1-2 years of experience in payroll or accounting roles. Familiarity with multi-state payroll is a plus. + Proficiency with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms. Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge. + Understanding of payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholding and overtime policies. + Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
