Job Description
The Separations and Bioprocessing group in the Applied Materials Division (AMD) has an opening for a postdoctoral appointee. This position will involve developing and scaling cost-effective methods for separating and converting materials using electrochemistry. The researcher may also work with companies to research and validate unique lithium-ion battery recycling processes. This will require innovative approaches to solve challenges that go beyond the use of pilot scale or commercialized equipment. As such we are seeking candidates that have demonstrated the ability to design and build their own experimental apparatus to solve challenges. The position will require flexibility and a willingness to learn new techniques and approaches. The postdoctoral appointee will have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on improving Li-ion battery, critical materials supply chains, and other concepts using electrochemistry.
Position Requirements - PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science (those with other degrees but have similar skills to those listed will be considered).
- Skilled oral and written communication skills at all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record showing the ability to carry out independent and collaborative research in a multidisciplinary team while meeting project deliverables and milestones.
