PRIOR AUTHORIZATION SPECIALIST

THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person to join our team as a Prior Authorization Specialist. Our Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for accurately identifying retinal injectable patients. This includes counseling and registering patients, confirming patient eligibility, and obtaining pre-authorizations for upcoming retinal injection appointments. You’ll play a vital role in the patients’ experience with OCLI.

OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU

• Review appointments to confirm that correct injections are booked in appropriate timeframe.
• Follow up on status of patient copay assistance.
• Confirm the results of Benefits Investigation (BI) and entering pertinent information into patient chart.
• Confirming status of patient eligibility and approval for copayment assistance.
• Maintain proper inventory.
• Assist with tracking patients who have been approved and have copayment assistance cards and applying funds to charges within PM system.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• You have a High school diploma or equivalent
• You have a minimum of Two years experience in medical office; billing and collections experience preferred
• Ophthalmic Coding Specialist certification is a plus
• You have excellent communication and follow up skills
• You're organized, detail oriented and can easily multi-task
• You have an understanding of Medical billing, coding, and insurances
• You're a team player
