Our client is actively seeking an experienced Remote Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to support their busy outpatient facilities.
A PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) working in outpatient telemedicine is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, medication management, and therapy to patients remotely via telehealth platforms, focusing on a range of mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and ADHD, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Patient Evaluation and Diagnosis:
Conducting thorough telehealth psychiatric evaluations to assess mental health needs, diagnose mental health disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans.
Medication Management:
Prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications based on patient needs and clinical guidelines, including adjustments as necessary.
Psychotherapy:
Providing individual therapy sessions via telehealth platforms, utilizing evidence-based practices to address mental health concerns.
Telehealth Consultations:
Collaborating with other healthcare providers through telehealth consultations to discuss patient care, coordinate treatment plans, and ensure continuity of care.
Crisis Intervention:
Responding to urgent mental health needs of patients through telehealth platforms, providing crisis stabilization strategies as needed.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records within the electronic health record system, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medication management documentation.
Patient Education:
Providing patients with information and education regarding their mental health condition, treatment options, and self-management strategies.
Compliance and Ethics:
Adhering to all state and federal regulations regarding telehealth practice, including patient privacy and confidentiality.
Education:
Master's degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialization.
Certification:
Current PMHNP certification from a recognized national organization.
Clinical Experience:
Prior, 1 - 3 years of experience in outpatient mental health settings is preferred.
Telehealth Proficiency:
Familiarity with telehealth platforms and technology, including video conferencing and electronic health records.
Strong Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients through telehealth.
