Job Description

We are seeking a Sorter/Helper to join our team for a recycling yard in Montebello, Ca. The Sorter will be responsible for organizing and separating materials, assisting the team with other functions and learning other functions of the opertion.

** Sorting recyclables is not a glamorous job but it’s a necessary one that helps keep our community clean.**

• Inspect materials and sort items or materials into designated areas of recycling.
• Perform cleaning duties and general housekeeping related to the work site.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
• Dump boxes and containers of material into the designated area(s).
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Ability to work outside in rain or shine.
• Bilingual in Spanish REQUIRED 

Required:

• Pass background check
• Pass drug test
• Reliability

Job Type: Full-time.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour.
Expected hours: 40-45 per week.

• Mon-Fri: 8 AM-4:30 PM.
• Sat: (Required) 8 AM-1:30 PM.

Duties:

• Sort and segregate materials such as paper, plastic, glass, and metal for recycling purposes.
• Inspect materials to identify and remove contaminants.
• Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the sorting area.
• Perform heavy lifting tasks as required.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize sorting processes.

Qualifications:

• Experience in waste management or recycling industry is a plus.
