Responsibilities

The HVAC Helper assists licensed HVAC Technicians and Installers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals seeking hands-on experience and training in residential HVAC systems. No prior experience is required—we provide full training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help the crew or leadman with daily tasks across various job sites.

  • Assist with installing HVAC ductwork, systems, and components under the supervision of a licensed technician.

  • Transport tools and materials to and from job sites; load, unload, and prepare work areas.

  • Clean, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems and job sites to ensure safe and efficient operation.

  • Measure, cut, and assemble ductwork using hand and power tools.

  • Learn and follow all safety procedures, building codes, and company policies.

  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools.

  • Communicate effectively with crew leads and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • No prior HVAC or construction experience necessary—we will train you.

  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn a skilled trade.

  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces.

  • No license required; we will help you apply for an apprentice license if hired.

  • Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

  • Work may include attics, crawl spaces, and confined or dusty areas.

  • Noise level can be moderate to loud; PPE (personal protective equipment) is required.

  • Starting pay: $12–$14 per hour, depending on experience.
