Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff. The role of Senior Clinical Nurse Educator serves all aspects of nursing in the clinical setting: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader. This role might require individuals to work days, evenings or/and weekends based on departmental needs. Specialty certification in Professional developing, pediatric, and/or Diabetes preferred. Knowledge on handtevy as well as APRN, clinical education or/and academic education preferred. Responsibilities include conducting needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools, managing the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s), serving as consultant/mentor/change agent to staff, clinical leaders, and others as appropriate, conducting and/or contributing to nursing research, synthesizing evaluation data to guide decision-making about educational programming, planning, updating, and evaluating clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance, assisting with developing specific departmental goals, standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization, disseminating research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement findings through activities such as presentations, publications, and consultation, and leading committee, work groups/and/or projects related to the implementation of educational activities. Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Requires five (5) years' nursing experience and two (2) years' facilitating learning/professional development. Master's degree required, can be in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management, Health Information Management, Business Administration/Management, Education, or Information Technology. Specialty certification preferred. Certifications required include BLS American Heart E-Card, BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard, BLS Certification Grace, BLS Cert Red Cross, Registered Nurse Compact License, Registered Nurse License - State of Florida.
