The Consumer Research & Insights (CRI) team within Global Consumer Marketing is a highly influential team that inspires consumer centricity throughout Bose by partnering closely with internal stakeholders and delivering innovative and actionable insights. This multidisciplinary team works together to help Bose understand consumers, their problems and product needs, their motivations, how they make decisions, and how these are all changing.
Opportunity CRI is looking to add another Senior Qualitative Consumer Researcher (Product Innovation) to the team to drive product innovation projects and help shape future learning plans.
While the team works collaboratively on a wide variety of projects across the value chain, this individual will focus primarily on foundational and generative work that drives innovation in our product categories, such as jobs to be done in the audio space, and on work to assess early-stage product ideas.
In this role, you will use your creative energy and research expertise to scope, design, execute, and report qualitative research projects using a mix of online and offline methodologies and supported by an expanding toolset of traditional and emerging tools. You will work expansively across the organization to build learning plans and inspire action from a wide variety of audiences, all the way up to the C-suite, through storytelling, compelling reports, and effective engagement with stakeholders. You will also work collegially within the team with other qualitative researchers on shared projects and with quantitative researchers so that they can incorporate the output of your work into their work.
Qualifications Join our dynamic team if you have:
- Strong methodological foundation in qualitative research as applied to product innovation, including, but not limited to, ethnography/contextual enquiry, in-depth interviews, and co-creation groups. Experience with quantitative methods a plus.
- Demonstrated success in applying innovation frameworks such as design thinking to product innovation problems.
- Skills as an effective storyteller, communicating complex insights to company leaders in a way that gets stakeholders to think differently and inspires them to act.
- Experience facilitating workshops and ideation sessions to translate insights about human needs into product ideas and business opportunities.
- Collaborative energy and enthusiastic team engagement including demonstrated success working directly with quantitative researchers to effectively incorporate qualitative findings into quantitative research.
- A growth mindset and stay at the forefront of consumer research methodologies by seeking out new techniques, methodologies, and frameworks. Ideally you already have experience with emerging AI tools in this space.
- Bachelors (graduate degree(s) highly desired) in a relevant field,
- Minimum seven years of industry experience in fieldwork involving consumer products (consumer-electronics experience is particularly beneficial).
