Job Description

An exciting healthcare startup that is growing quickly is seeking their 1st tech hire and Founding Engineer - Shopify Web Developer to be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining their website while enhancing performance and customer experience. This role requires full stack web development skills in an e-commerce environment.

The ideal candidate can develop and deploy new website features, collaborate cross-functionally to improve the customer journey, and integrate e-commerce tools effectively.

Location: New York, NY

Salary: 150k base + equity

Responsiblities:

Full-Stack Web Development

• Own the end-to-end development of the website , building new features and maintaining the existing codebase.
• Develop and deploy custom themes and templates on Shopify, or a custom-built solution.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or Liquid.
• Improve site architecture and backend functionality , ensuring seamless integration with third-party apps and APIs.
• Optimize for site performance, scalability, and security , reducing load times and improving Core Web Vitals
• Manage website hosting, deployment, and version control

Tech Stack & Operations

• Ensure smooth integrations between Shopify, Meta, Google Ads, Klaviyo, and other marketing & analytics tools.
• Manage tracking implementations (Google Tag Manager, Pixels, UTMs) to improve marketing attribution.
• Automate reporting, data flows, and key workflows to improve efficiency and decision-making

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a full stack engineer
• Expertise in Shopify Development : Deep experience with Shopify’s Liquid for theme development, customizations, and building storefront features.
• Front-End Development : Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and frameworks like React or Vue.js for interactive elements.
• Back-End & API Experience : Familiarity with Shopify APIs, GraphQL, and REST API integrations for custom functionality and automation.
• Performance Optimization : Ability to improve site speed, Core Web Vitals, and mobile performance to enhance user experience.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Comfortable working with Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to implement data-backed improvements.
• Startup-Ready & Hands-On : Thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, taking ownership of web development and analytics projects.
