CP&A is looking to hire a full-time Licensed Structural Engineer focusing on structural steel design (see casperphillips.com/careers for other opportunities including entry level). We are a unique multi-discipline engineering firm focusing on cranes and one-of-a-kind structures. We take basic structural engineering principles and code requirements and apply them to atypical structures such as a container crane or ship building crane. We have served clients all around the world; as you progress here, opportunities for international travel will present itself.
Your responsibilities will include design and review of structures from concept through construction, and working with contractors and providing construction support. You will prepare code-based criteria and develop and debug math models. You will be able to work on a variety of projects, though the primary focus will be on cranes and ports. Technical responsibilities include but are not limited to: Designing connections, finite element analysis, and AutoCAD drafting.
