Job Title: Systems Admin

Location: Toronto Canada 

Long term contract position

 

Required Skills & Experience

- 4+ years' experience as a Systems Administrator working with Solaris 10/11, RHEL 6/7/8, CentOS 7

- Working knowledge of building, configuring, maintaining Solaris logical domains (LDOMs)

- Working knowledge of VMware for Red Hat VM guest build, clone, snapshot, and general maintenance.

- Experience with Satellite and Ansible

- Experience supporting Oracle SQL databases including Oracle RAC cluster

- Experience with common scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, etc)

- Experience monitoring and incident response technologies like Nagios and Pagerduty

 

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with F5 LTM, Splunk and ServiceNow

- College or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or the Engineering field

- FS and BlueCat Exposure

 

Job Description

- Maintenance of Linux/Unix system administration in Dev/QA/UAT/DR/Prod environments

- Automation configuration management with Ansible

- Perform Kernel patching for virtual and physical machines

- Performed package and patching management and debugging in all flavors of Unix & Linux

- Build servers with kick-start and automated post-install scripts with Python Fabric

- Scripts checked-in to GitHub for better usability and version control mechanism

- Manage Performance & Tuning of RHEL

- Configure and manage Redhat satellite Network server, performing package management tasks and updates

- Create/Manage logical volume manager (LVM) on RHEL servers and ZFS on Solaris servers

- Support VMware administrations activities such as snapshots, backups, datastores, VMotion etc.

Education: 
Bachelor's degree in information Technology or related field or equivalent experience required.
