Job Description

The Tax Managing Director, Transfer Pricing collaborates with Principals to lead the national TP practice towards becoming the pre-eminent Transfer Pricing Practice in the U.S. The role involves creating, developing, and maintaining strong client relationships, motivating and developing the transfer pricing team, and overseeing the development of transfer pricing solutions for clients. The position requires entrepreneurial drive to build a profitable business and align with the goals of the national TP practice and BDO Tax.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement transfer pricing methods and solutions tailored to clients.
• Apply transfer pricing regulations and analyze client data to identify issues.
• Advise on transfer pricing compliance strategies.
• Manage the holistic transfer pricing ecosystem across client relationships.

Client Engagement

• Ensure client compliance with local transfer pricing requirements.
• Manage team and project economics.
• Implement quality control and risk management processes.

Tax Controversy and Provisions

• Advise and represent clients in tax authority disputes.
• Understand and prepare tax provisions related to transfer pricing.

Research and Analytics

• Conduct financial and economic analysis of intercompany transactions.
• Research and frame tax issues.

Business Development

• Build relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Represent the firm in transfer pricing engagements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate TP Managers and Associates.
• Mentor and develop team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.
• 10+ years of transfer pricing experience required.
• Certifications like MBA, CPA, CFA, JD, or EA preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.

Additional Information

Salary range varies by location, with a national range of $157,500 - $420,000.
