Teacher of the Hearing Impaired position at Caesar Rodney School District.
Individuals who will be eligible or possess
Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing certification are encouraged to apply. All candidates must apply online.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Provides direct or consultative support to students with hearing impairments.
- Participates in identification, assessment and IEP or 504 development and delivery for eligible students eligible under hearing impairment.
- Collects data related to IEP goals and reports progress quarterly on progress monitoring reports.
- Knowledge and experience in evaluation procedures, formal and informal assessment, and interpreting assessment results to include Audiogram for reporting and eligibility for special education for students with hearing impairments.
- Completes a communication plan for each student.
- Participates in parent conferences and communicates with parents on a routine basis keeping them well-informed about their child's progress on IEP goals and services.
- Plans and implements small group and individual specialized instruction to support the individual goals outlined on the IEP.
- Provides support to staff in the areas of hearing loss and how to best support students with hearing impairments.
- Completes fidelity checks on the effectiveness of proposed accommodations for students with hearing impairments.
- Provides training to other teachers on hearing loss, teaching strategies, adapting materials, and using hearing equipment (Hearing Aids, FM Systems).
- Troubleshoots classroom amplification systems and individual student hearing systems.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Inclusive Education and/or Supervisor of Special Education.
QUALIFICATIONS : Applicant must meet State of Delaware certification requirements for
Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing .
SALARY: In accordance with the State of Delaware and local salary schedules, based on experience and degree. Benefits package included.

- All persons employed by the Caesar Rodney School District are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test.
