Job Description
Saint Mary's High School in Manhasset is seeking a Full-Time Theology teacher to join its Theology Department in 2024 - 2025 school year. The preferred candidate will have academic experience in theology or a related field and be knowledgeable of and personally faithful to the teachings of the Magisterium. Each St. Mary's teacher is dedicated to developing the whole person in academics, the arts, athletics and a growing commitment to God and others.
The Theology Teacher position is a full-time position with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following tasks:
- Teach 5 sections of Theology or related courses during the school year
- Work collaboratively and be open to feedback on improving teaching
- Participate in departmental and school-wide professional development initiatives
- Participate in the extracurricular life of the school
- Attend and contribute to grade level, faculty, and department meetings
- Teach and lead students in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic church and the mission of St. Mary's High School
Qualifications
- Be a practicing Roman Catholic
- Bachelor's degree(s) in theology, philosophy, or related fields, Masters preferred
- Personal commitment to Catholic mission in education
