Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Wound Care role in the ICU, requiring proficiency in pressure injury assessment and management and an active NJ or compact license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Provide wound care in an ICU setting, supporting critically ill patients including those with open heart surgeries and transplants
• Focus on preventing and managing pressure injuries among ICU patients
• Work day shifts, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Use of EPIC for electronic charting is required
• Maintain patient documentation and pressure injury metrics using Excel
• Floating required within skillset according to census and staffing needs
• Patient ratios are assigned based on acuity when floated
• Responsible for validating staging, assessments, documentation, and treatment of pressure injuries
• Collaboration with primary nurses and educators on wound care plans
• Role emphasizes reduction and prevention of pressure injuries
• No patient handoff required at end of shift; flexibility with end times based on documentation and unit needs
• Local candidates and first-time travelers are accepted
• Must work at least two of three major holidays
• Return staff must have a minimum one-year break from previous employment in the health system
• Scrubs are required in accordance with hospital dress code

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ICU or acute care experience is required
• Proficiency in pressure injury assessment, management, and treatment
• Experience with wound care certification (WCN or WOCN) is highly preferred
• Ability to document and track pressure injuries using Excel
• Completion of all required modules, including 4 hours of EPIC training, prior to start
