Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Telemetry Float Pool Job Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12H Nights, including 4 weekend shifts per schedule Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to interpret EKGs and titrate cardiac drips Job Description: - Float between Telemetry and MedSurg units across multiple campuses as needed. - Potential to float to ICU, Cardiac Telemetry, observation floors, and other units depending on skill level. - Floating may occur during a shift and could involve traveling between campuses 9 miles apart. - Responsible for interpreting EKGs and titrating cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine. - Participate in a dysrhythmia exam and Sim Lab on the first day of orientation. - Work with centralized telemetry systems to monitor patients’ vital signs. - Provide care in units such as CV Tele, Neuro Tele, Ortho, Surgical, Oncology, and general MedSurg. - Work closely with charge nurses, clinical supervisors, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs). - Handle common diagnoses including post cath lab, post vascular procedures, CABG recovery, neuro post-surgery, and general medical surgical needs. - Engage in floor-specific orientations for two days to understand unit-specific protocols and workflows. - Expected to work every other weekend and some holidays, adhering to a navy scrub uniform standard. - Utilize Cerner for charting and electronic health records management.
