Purpose/Scope:
Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment storage plans.
Responsibilities:
Verify material/merchandising against receiving documents, identify discrepancies and obvious damages, route materials, and store, stack or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage.
Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
Minimum Knowledge:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Six to twelve months' job-related experience and/or training are required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to operate a general-purpose government vehicle. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Work Environment:
Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting up to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/or organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Position may require travel.
