JOB TITLE: Webmaster

LOCATION: mASD Business and Administrative Office (Yazoo City)

SALARY: $37,000 - $58,000.00 (salary is negotiable, commensurate with experience)

WORK DAYS: 235 Days - 12 Month Employee

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Instruction, Professional Development & Technology or

Designee

FLSA STATUS: NON-Exempt


POSITION OVERVIEW


The mASD is seeking an exceptional and creative individual to serve as the Webmaster. The Webmaster will maintain the district’s website with viable, accurate and timely data and content, as well as participate as a regular member of the district’s technology team. In addition to website maintenance, the webmaster will support the school district with general computer maintenance support.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

Website Maintenance

  • Design, create, and manage all aspects of the district website.
  • Assist school personnel with overview and guidance for school pages on the district website.
  • Create, improve, and manage mASD branding materials, including logo use, promotional materials, photographs, etc.
  • Create, manage, and promote district visibility and positive messaging on social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
  • Manage contract with website vendor.


Other Technology Duties

  • Must be able to operate a variety of computing equipment and tools including but not

limited to computers, scanners, computer software, computer hardware, etc.

  • Must be able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 5 pounds of

force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

  • Must be able to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information.
  • Includes receiving instructions, assignments or directions from superiors.
  • Must be able to read a wide range of correspondence, technical manuals, etc.
  • Must be able to speak to people with poise, voice control, and confidence.
  • Must be able to apply rational systems to solve practical problems
  • Must able to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to give oral and
  • written instructions.
  • Must be able to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately in using computer
  • Must be able to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
  • Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with persons

acting under stress.

  • Requires the ability to talk and hear: (Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by

means of spoken words. Hearing: perceiving nature of sounds by ear.)

  • Must be able to communicate by telephone


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certification and /or credentials that speak to the individual’s ability to create, design and maintain web pages is required.
  • Certifications and/or credentials that speak to the individual’s ability to network, maintain software and hardware, and other pertinent work regarding instructional and non-instructional technology support.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, preferably in graphic design, or other similar fields relating to technology.
  • At least two (2) years of relatable experience
  • Some experience working, volunteering or partnering with a school, school district or state education agency
  • Experience with designing and managing multimedia projects
  • Experience with working with networking, general technology maintenance, and support with digital software for computers and other devices.
  • Familiarity with the Mississippi Delta

  • Ability to deliver creative web content (text, image, and video) required
