We are seeking a 3/5 Part-time High School Math Teacher to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, in accordance with Massachusetts Frameworks.Job expectations: Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiencesDevelop schemes of work and lesson plansEstablish and communicate clear goals and objectives for all learning activitiesPrepare classroom for class activitiesIdentify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students varying learning needsInstruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment use relevant technology to support instructionObserve and evaluate students performance and developmentAssign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignmentsProvide appropriate feedback on workEncourage and monitor the progress of individual studentsMaintain accurate and complete records of students progress and developmentUpdate all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, and GLCPS policiesPrepare required reports on students and activities in a timely mannerManage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing clear guidelines and proceduresMaintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of GLCPSApply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessaryProvide student encouragement and supportParticipate in department and school meetings, parent meetingsProvide coverage for assigned dutiesBe on time for all classes, meetings, and dutiesFollow teacher dress guidelinesComplete paperwork in a timely manner for all requests of leaveComplete purchase order for all requested supplies and expensesMaintain professional relationship with students, colleagues, parents, and community membersCommunicate any concerns to students, parents, supervisor, administration, and/or counseling staff, when appropriateCommunicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needsKeep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activitiesSet annual goals with supervisor and work towards completing themQualifications: Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institutionHighly qualified in subject area, as defined by Federal and State standardsRelevant teaching experienceKnowledge of relevant technology
