DESCRIPTION

Performs TIG and/or MIG welding and related fabrication processes on complex drawers, cabinets, and subassemblies. Sets up and maintains welding equipment. Use fixtures or table setups as necessary using clamps or angle plates to produce the correct shapes and dimensions. Can work to tight tolerances. Performs welding in the best sequence to minimize warpage and distortion. Cleans and prepares parts for welding by wire brushing, abrasive shot blast, and aqueous or solvent cleaning. Straighten parts that have been distorted due to machining and or welding. Clean, shot-blast, and apply the metal flame spray. May be required to work the second shift.

MANDATORY

· Experience in TIG and/or MIG welding on aluminum, steel, or stainless-steel parts such as drawers and cabinets in accordance with supplied instructions.

· Knowledge of the difference between basic metal groups such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

· Proficient with various hand tools such as hammers, chisels, squares, and straight edges and measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and scales.

· Good knowledge of welding symbols.

· Ability to read prints and sketches with regards to fabrication and can follow written and/or verbal instructions.

· Must have a thorough knowledge of safety and the correct procedures for performing tasks to prevent personal injury or damage to product and/or equipment.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
