Account Payable Clerk
Schedule: Mon-Fri 1st shift 8am-4:30pm flexibility till 5pm
Pay: $20.00
1. Qualification Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent work experience , and one year clerical experience required. Must possess basic PC skills. Must possess ability to perform computations with reasonable speed and accuracy. Pleasant and courteous telephone manners.
2. Reports to: Office Manager
3. Authority: Processes invoices, makes calls to vendors to clarify any questionable invoices, and obtains EINs or SSNs for 1099's. May take calls from vendors in order to pay invoices.
4. Special Circumstances of the Job: Clarifies questionable invoice prices with Purchasing Agent. Required to work independently on all aspects of Payables and to keep correct records for state Use Tax.
5. Job Duties, Functions, Responsibilities: Matches invoices with packing slips, verifies price with Purchasing Agent, prepares proper general ledger code, assigns vendor codes, applies invoices against purchase orders, and runs purchases journal. Ensures that all discounts are taken and that accurate and timely payments are made. Cuts checks, runs check register, posts payments, and has checks signed. Files paid invoices. Reconciles accounts payable total with general ledger on a monthly basis, and prepares a listing of open invoices at the end of each quarter. Prepares Use-tax data on a quarterly basis. Prepares I099's at end of year.
6. Other Duties: Execution of special related projects as assigned.

8. Results Expected: Timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
