Atlas Lighting Products, a subsidiary of LSI Industries, is looking for a Accountant. Atlas Lighting manufactures innovative American Made energy-efficient LED lighting products in Burlington, NC.


Summary:
Reporting to the Business Controller, this position will be involved with financial analysis and planning activities related to procurement activities for raw material, components for manufacturing, as well as finished goods. In addition, the position will provide decision-support for both inbound and outbound freight as well as logistics activities including but not limited to warehoused inventory and modification of purchased finished goods.

The position will support the Business Controller in the financial planning, actual performance reporting and analyses, and business controls for ATLAS LIGHTING, a wholly owned subsidiary of LSI Industries Inc. The scope of the role includes providing accurate cost analyses to the Atlas management team as well as the LSI Industries Corporate Finance, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. The position will interface with all relevant organization functions including: Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Design/Development, Customer Service and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assists the Business Controller, the Atlas President, and the LSI Corporate Finance team in interpretation of the reported financial results which includes but is not limited to the identification of trends and the preparations of financial reports.
  • Closely monitor and analyze landed cost performance versus standard cost in order to accurately measure labor and overhead absorption across multiple cost categories.
  • Develop analysis and reporting to measure cost change by purchase commodity and category, for both performance to plan and year over year. Provide cost trends, forecast expectations and impact.
  • Lead efforts to ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Collaborate with sourcing team, assist with vendor RFQ; developing and analyzing comparable costs for off-shore purchasing of both raw material and finished goods.
  • Responsible for Inventory reporting and analysis as part of the monthly S&OP process.
  • Responsible for creating analysis and back up support for various monthly journal entries.

  • Support the development of profitable growth strategies, and execution of those strategies.
  • Support the development and execution of business controls for Atlas Lighting ensuring margin, operating expenses, operating income, and EBITDA targets meet annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts.


IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Finance Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance.
  • Lean accounting experience a plus.
  • Approximately 3 or more years of experience in a business environment and/or a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including ERP and report writing software; experience with JD Edwards and Crystal Reports is a plus.
  • Select travel may be required.
