Nature of Work

Under general supervision, independently performs full-performance level, professional duties in general accounting, auditing, and financial analysis for the Division of Compliance and Monitoring within the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Office of Internal Control and Policy Development. Applies internal procedures to ensure that the DHHR and its recipients of grant awards are complying with applicable federal, state, and professional rules, regulations, and standards. Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.
AND
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in professional accounting, statutory accounting or auditing work.
OR
Substitutions: (1) Master's degree in accounting may substitute for the required experience. (2) Certification or registration as a Public Accountant in West Virginia may be substituted for the training and required experience.
