Job Summary: Our company is currently seeking an experienced an accountant, with invoicing knowledge, to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, this position will be responsible for customer invoicing, commissions, day to day accounting activities and assisting with monthly close.

Job Duties:

• Create customer project invoices, verify costs, determine sales tax and allocate commissions.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns.
• Process commission reports.
• Code and enter accounts payable.
• Post customer receipts, resolve discrepancies and contact past due accounts.
• Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts.
• Process expense reports.
• Assist with preparation of month-end financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger.
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Protect confidential information.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Experience in invoicing customers, verifying costs and determining sales tax status required, required
• Knowledge of sales and use tax, able to compute and file returns, required
• Minimum three years accounting experience, preferably in a distribution environment
• Previous experience with ERP systems
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products, with advanced Excel skills required.
• General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Detail oriented
• Excellent organization and analytical skills
• Strong work ethic
• Able to multi-task and effectively prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Positive personality and a willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• 2-year degree or more preferred
