Position Title: Accounts Payable & Payroll Accountant

General Description:

This is a job description to record the primary duties and tasks assigned to the position of staff accountant. This position reports to the assistant controller and serves as a backup to most other accounting functions.

Functions:

  • General Accounting
  • Serve as backup for monthly bank reconciliation processing
  • Prepare various reports and spreadsheets as assigned by the assistant controller
  • Accounts Payable
  • Responsible for the Accounts Payable process and check printing
  • Prepare Accounts Payable reports and spreadsheets as assigned by the assistant controller
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Post customer cash receipts and miscellaneous reimbursements
  • Payroll
  • Process weekly payroll in ADP and Plex
  • Prepare payroll reports and spreadsheets as assigned by the assistant controller
  • Purchasing
  • Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Follow up on PO’s and log due dates in Plex PO system
  • Other
  • Perform other projects and tasks assigned by the assistant controller or CFO
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year college or university highly preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years related experience and/or training, preferred.
  • Reputation for ethical decisions and behavior.
  • Experience in Manufacturing and with Plex ERP systems is a plus.
  • Good organizational skills and an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to explain complex accounting functions to other team members.

Mathematical skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

Reasoning ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
