Overview:
ABOUT THE POSITION
Under general supervision, the Accounts Payable Assistant performs a variety of routine to moderately complex clerical tasks in support of the accounting/finance team. Assists with moderately complex questions and issues. Refers more complex issues to manager. This is a supportive, well led finance team, where you will be nutured and encouraged to grow. We operate in a hybrid work environment. Candidate will be expected to work out of our Watertown, Massachusetts office Wednesday of each week, at minimum.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, and prioritizes work to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Confers with management and team members on the setup, processing, and terms/conditions of accounting/finance records.
  • Handles routine accounts payable duties.
  • Prepares and processes routine, standard accounting/finance records and forms.
  • Sets up and maintains accounting/finance records, files, and correspondence.
  • Compiles and sorts invoices, checks, and other accounting/financial records.
  • Performs accounting/financial reconciliations, transfers, and balancing operations.
  • Records business transactions in the general ledger system, including charges and refunds.
  • Uses accounting/financial system to run databases, pay bills, and order supplies.
  • Enhances working knowledge of accounting/finance concepts, systems, and procedures.
  • Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of related accounting and/or finance experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required
Skills & Knowledge
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Deltek preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to accurately enter data into system and perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with coworkers.
