• JOB TITLE: Activities Aide/Assistant

Sacred Heart Senior Living is seeking Innovative, Talented, Inspired, Creative individuals to make a positive impact on the residents' lives here at Sacred Heart Senior Living by Saucon Creek as an Activities Assistant/Aide. We are looking for individuals with artistic, musical, crafty, story-telling skills to share and inspire our residents each and every day.

An Activities Assistant/Aide must enjoy working with, and understand the needs of, the elderly.

They must have a positive and optimistic attitude that will encourage and uplift their spirits with each day’s activities.

Assistant/Aide is required to conduct and encourage activities that challenge residents on three levels:

1.Spiritual

2.Physical

3. Mental

We are looking full and part time creative inspirers for both our Personal Care and Memory Care facilities.

Job Duties may include:

• Assistant/Aide is required to conduct morning exercises and physically and mentally challenging games for approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours.
• Assistant/Aide is required to provide afternoon activities for approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours.
• Assistant/Aide to guide and encourage residents in activities of daily living, self-help skills, recreation and therapies as directed.

• Adhere to the policies and procedures of the facility.

• Cooperate with direction of supervisors and work as a team player
• Must provide care as assigned, complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Observes and report orally and in writing or in any other manner, individual behavior, attitude and physical condition, including changes.

· Must be able to identify safety hazards and emergency situations and initiate corrective action immediately and report all aspects to shift supervisor accurately. Perform CPR, Heimlich maneuver, emergency evaluations, other emergency health and safety

• Must attend all classes and/or meetings as assigned
• Demonstrate a positive and cooperative attitude and enthusiasm during all tasks.
• Assume accountability for compliance with Federal. State and Local regulations
• Must be well groomed, dress according to uniform code and free of infectious diseases at all time
• Escort individuals to and from various activities, clinics, and appointments and visits on and off the grounds
• Must be able to perform housekeeping, dietary and activities duties when needed.
• Must be able to understand the emergency signals, codes and procedures as outlined.
• Must adhere to attendance and standards of confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education: High School Diploma, GED, CNA or equivalent

Must be 18 years of age or older

Acceptable criminal background clearance

CPR & First Aide Training

Ability to communicate professionally with the resident, resident family, healthcare professional and coworkers.

Must be able to read, write, and carry out directions.

Excellent attendance and reference history.

Ability to work independently and handle emergency / stressful situations.

Must have the ability to accept and perform responsibilities as outlined above.

Must display a genuine real concern for the well-being of the residents.

Aide must be capable of light lifting (up to 25 lbs.) and moving of furniture to accommodate activities

Aide must be able to, if necessary, transfer residents to and from furniture, vehicles and provide assistance with walking.

Aide will be required to work evenings, every other weekends and holidays as needed to accommodate activities schedule.

Must complete Monthly in services and training as scheduled.

Sacred Heart Senior Living will provide training classes to all employees, who are not qualified prior to hire date, as schedule permits
