Job Description
Dabney S. Lancaster Community College (DSLCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia. The college is supported by the Commonwealth of Virginia; the counties of Alleghany, Bath, Botetourt (northern portion) and Rockbridge; the cities of Buena Vista, Covington, and Lexington; and the town of Clifton Forge. DSLCC provides opportunities for the extension of knowledge, skills and personal enrichment in an environment that maintains high academic standards and respect for each individual. The college strives to keep programs and services financially and geographically accessible for all students. Credit and non-credit courses are offered to meet life-long learning needs. On-site and distance learning options incorporate up-to-date technologies.

Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Workforce Solutions is currently accepting applications for part-time adjunct faculty for the following programs:

Business & Professional Development, Computers & Technology, Healthcare & Wellness; Hospitality & Service and Professional Trades & Industry.

Positions are appointed on an as needed basis. Responsibilities include teaching workforce courses during the day or evening. Some courses may be taught on the weekends, if needed. Applications will be received and considered for Fall/Spring and Summer semesters. Review of applications will begin immediately.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.



KSA's/Required Qualifications
Applicants must have expert skills and knowledge in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience. Depending on the course, positions may require Associate Degree or equivalent in teaching field, or High School diploma and ten years related occupational experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Nationally-recognized, industry credential or Bachelor’s in the teaching field and minimum of two years of related occupational experience.
