Position Summary
The Morehouse College Student Counseling & Accessibility Center invites applications for the administrative assistant position. This is a 12-month, full-time position with full staff benefits. Primary responsibilities include the following:

Preferred Qualifications
Two years experience in psychiatric office, medical office, or disability services office. Electronic health records management experience

Preferred Education/Experience
College Degree is preferred but not required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Able to work independently & take direction from management
  • Proficient with PC computers & MS Office programs
  • Familiarity with Banner
  • Proficient with smart phones and texting
  • Able to learn new scheduling & billing software programs
  • Able to multitask calls, emails and greeting clients

Physical Demands
Position will require some minimum lifting of less than 10 lbs., sitting and standing for long periods of time. The ability to walk the distance of the college without assistance.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Responsiblities
  • First point of contact for the center, greet all guests and provide high level of customer service.
  • Schedules and arranges meetings and appointments, makes room assignments for special events, and schedules rooms for use for office needs.
  • Oversees distribution and placement of multi-media carts, projectors, TVs, and other equipment owned/managed by the office.
  • Oversees and facilitates Center budget, contracts, materials procurement, and staff travel and professional development.
  • Collaborates in the development and distribution of office literature and brochures, using publishing software and replenishes the stock as necessary.
  • Plans and organizes meetings, retreats, and special functions for the office. Maintains and monitors grants budgets as appropriate, supplying data and statistics to the Director/PIs and other staff for grant administration.
  • Assists the Director in preparing various reports.
  • Edits, reviews and answers routine memos, telephone requests and correspondence from Director and other staff.
  • Attends workshops for the purpose of learning new programs added to the Banner System or for improving the administration of the center.
  • Serves as office liaison handling communication of information, human resources paperwork, materials, key requests, and other miscellaneous details in the office.
  • Facilitates maintenance requests with regard to the efficient usage of all departmental computers, equipment and mechanical requests for repair by contacting the appropriate vendor and/or other on-campus departments.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Center Director.
