RecSports within the Division of Student Life invites applications for the position of Administrative Specialist. This position is the primary HR and payroll processing support as well as oversees the department’s student and staff training database. The position is also responsible for maintaining the reservation and space scheduling system for RecSports.

The Position: RecSports employs over 350 part-time student staff at any given time during the academic calendar. This position will be responsible for collecting and submitting all required HR paperwork through the duration of student’s employment with RecSports. This position will review, process, and submit bi-weekly and monthly time to the UT Payroll Office. This position manages all space reservation requests once received from the campus community.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, review and submit HR paperwork for all employees
• Initiate background checks and submit and report findings to supervisor
• Prepare and approve student pay increases and termination paperwork
• Perform final review of bi-weekly payroll
• Work collaboratively with university offices to manage any payroll issues
• Maintain training database used to ensure RecSports meets university compliance requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact for all space reservations
• Initiate and maintain relationships with internal/external entities renting space
• Input space reservation for RecSports program area reservations

What We Require

Education: High school diploma

Experience: Two years office experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work with diverse constituencies
• Prioritize multiple work responsibilities in time-sensitive situations
• Work with limited supervision
• Exercise good judgment
• Handle different situations with confidence
• Ability to use PC and Mac operating systems and Microsoft office suite
• Strong customer service and interpersonal relationship skills

Salary: The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and other qualifications and is accompanied by a standard university benefits package. This is a non-exempt, 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track staff position.
