The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Administrative Support Worker for our Screven County Health Department

Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision performs clerical duties as assigned. Duties include but not limited:
  • Entering data into current computer system
  • Registering clients in different programs
  • Answering phones
  • Scheduling /rescheduling appointments through electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Providing a general program information on request
  • Maintenance, copying/distributing documents, and materials
  • Managing calendars for nurses and supervisor
  • Insurance verification, collecting payments and posting to accounts.
  • Work with and assist accounting and billing departments.
  • Submit and reconcile reports. T
  • Take detailed minutes of meetings & transcribe.
  • Write and distribute correspondence memos, letters, flyers, faxes, notifications, and social media posts.
  • Maintain appropriate filing system in accordance with Georgia's Guidelines for Retention of Public Health Clinical Records.
  • Provide support to staff and manager to ensure efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our office.
Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED AND Two years of general office or administrative experience.


Preferred Qualification:
  • 2 years' experience within a healthcare setting,
  • Skilled in the use of electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Insurance verification
  • Collecting and posting payments

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
