Admissions Coordinator

Position Overview

Assists the Admissions Manager with the admissions process, including pre-admissions and discharge procedures according to laws, guidelines and facility guidelines.

Basic Qualifications

Education & Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum of one year experience in a health care setting is required; marketing, admissions and sales experience preferred.

Essential Job Duties

1. Provides support to residents and family members and works hard to provide a positive admissions process

2. Assists with referral admissions procedures while providing a high level of customer service and support.

3. Prepares admission packets and other admission materials.

4. Provides facility tours for potential residents and families.

5. Tracks and reports daily census by following facility guidelines and assists with census reports.

6. Tracks weekly admission inquiries/referrals and maintains the waiting list of potential residents.

7. Welcomes new residents and provides new resident and family orientation.

8. Provides support and assistance to the resident and family during the admission process.

Other Job Duties

1. Assists with admissions paperwork and contracts.

2. Performs visitations and post-admission interviews to ensure resident satisfaction.

3. Conducts admission meetings in the absence of the Admissions Manager.

4. Works closely with the nursing and social services departments to create a warm, compassionate and positive environment for residents and family members.

5. Builds individual rapport with residents and families to promote communication.

6. Completes forms timely and accurately in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines.
