The Voorhees University invites applications for a staff position in the division of Enrollment Management as Admissions Counselor/Recruiter.

Position: Admissions Counselor/ Recruiter
Department/Division: Enrollment Management
Salary Range: $33,000-$35,570
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Position Duration: Full-time
Position Schedule: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Extended hours, weekends, and travel may be required)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Collects, reviews, processes admissions applications for input into computer database according to institutional policy.
  • Assumes responsibility for recruitment in assigned areas to include high schools, technical schools, churches, community organizations, festivals and other public and private functions.
  • Evaluates prospective student records and determines admission status, if requested.
  • Assist with the planning and executing programs sponsored by the Office of Admissions & Recruitment such as High School Visitation Day, Summer Orientation, campus tours, etc.
  • Visits and establishes professional relationships with guidance counselors, principals and other officials from schools and other agencies.
  • Conducts tours, lectures, exhibits and seminars for prospective students and/or parents.
  • Maintains telephone and written contact with students who have been admitted, but not yet registered.
  • Assists with coordination of out-of-state recruitment within the CACRAO zones, to include alumni chapters.
  • Counsels and guides prospects and applicants regarding the admissions process and requirements, with continued responsibility for those who are admitted throughout the matriculation process.
  • Schedules and conducts sessions or home visits with student and their parents to assist in formulating educational and occupational goals, to include financing their education.
  • Perform all other duties as required to support the Mission on the University, its enrollment goals and the department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standard Office Environment
  • Extended evenings and weekends and travel may be required

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of one year of successful experience in the area of student recruitment or student services
